Eating, is perhaps one of Madison's favorite things to do. She can really put it away. We have yet to find something she won't eat. She surprises me every week with what new food she'll try and inevitably enjoy. Below, we have an ordinary meal, however, notice the quantity. She will finish all of it and then drink about 6 ounces of whole milk. Where does she put it all? She's still underweight, but I assure you, it's not from a lack of trying to "fatten her up" as the doctor put it. Her stomach has got to be bigger than her fist!

Seasoned ground beef, black beans, steamed carrots, and cottage cheese with blueberries. I suppose it is all healthy so we have that going against us (for the "fattening up" part, that is).

Breadmaker...where have you been all my life??? Last weekend meant more bread from the breadmaker. I made a loaf of french bread which I forgot to take a picture of before we used it up on grilled cheese sandwiches that were probably the best I've ever eaten. After that, I made focaccia bread for a family dinner. I was a bit nervous about the focaccia because I thought surely it had to be difficult. After all, it's fancy bread and did require a bit more work from me. It was easy and unbelievably delicious. Again the best I've ever had. And it only cost about a dollar, if not less, to make. So far, this one has got to be my favorite.

I found a good deal, a sale, had a 30% off coupon, free shipping, and earned Kohls cash on top of it, so decided why not? I've always wanted to try it! We invested in a bread maker. Some day soon Madison will be eating plenty of sandwiches and I am one of those people reading the backs of bread packages because of all the added junk. Now, I am certainly not nutty about everything and all ingredrients but come on...why need high fructose corn syrup in bread? Really??? So, here we are. Making homemade bread and this summer I'll experiment with jams because this machine does that too. I received the maker in the mail Friday night and our house was smelling of fresh baked bread the next morning. There's nothing like the fresh smell of bread. Well, except the taste of fresh bread. DELICIOUS! Chris and I shared a panini and may never go back to store bought loaves. I look forward to the experimenting to come!

WooHoo! Baseball is back! And we're all ready in this house. We joined John, Brandie, Allison, and Baby Will at Angels Fan Fest followed by an exhibition game against the Padres. This was Madison's first Angels game and she didn't do too bad. We made it through the 7th inning before she had enough.

Madison absolutely loves when Daddy is home. That means that weekends are the best! She loves waking up to both of us here and would like to be glued together all day. Unfortunately that can't happen. Daddy went out to wash the vehicles and Madison crawled right over to the window and watched...waiting for a glimpse of Daddy!

Last July, when Madison was 5 months old, Chris had a work trip to San Diego and Madison and I were invited. We were lucky enough to experience Sea World and realized that the tickets given to us were 2 time use and they were to expire at the end of February, so we decided to take our second trip last Friday.

Valentine's Day dinner. This meal has become a tradition for us. It's pretty easy but it's the little things that make it DELICIOUS! Melt in your mouth yummy! It's steak with homemade chive butter, homemade au gratin potatoes with Gruyere cheese, and asparagus with shallot.

Homemade molten cake with dried cherries soaked in OJ. Again, melt in your mouth delicious. This dessert leaves you shocked it was made at home. And so simple to make. We had a fantastic, relaxing, romantic, Valentine's Day and night. Who says having a baby spoils romance? It was great!

For Christmas, Madison got her adorable doll from Uncle Vinny's family. She loves her and is even more delighted now to have a stroller (from Gigi and Tigger) to put her in. She strolls all over the house now looking proud each time.

I realize it's already almost the second month of the new year, but better late than never. We celebrated the start of 2011 at Jeff and Shannon's house with their son Caleb. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and wonderful conversation. It was also a blast to watch the kids and their stand offish behavior. Oh the qualities of being only children...for now. =)

Madison's First Christmas!

We had a great Christmas! I can't express enough how wonderful it was to celebrate Christmas with our daughter. The holiday was so much more magical with a little one and it was great to see it through her eyes (even only at 10 months old). I loved opening her gifts with her! We opened most of her gifts with my family on Christmas Eve and I, of course, was up before the sun on Christmas morning assembling all the toys so she could wake up to them. And all the toys aside, I can't wait to teach her about the true meaning of the holiday.

" There might not have been a Santa visit this year, but I made sure to tell Gigi everything I wanted."

Happy 9 Months, Madison!

Madison had her 9 month check up this week. Yay! She has now graduated to table foods. Of course, I still have so many wonders and questions about what exactly she can and can't eat. I'm too paranoid and that's something I have to get over. I will be in the book store later though scoping out the baby books for more info. Anyway, after we got the okay from Dr. Bennett, we came home and gave Madison her first Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, it was on Monday which I realize is late, but hey...better late than not at all. She had green beans, mashed potatoes, and turkey with rice. She also had some stuffing from my plate and part of a Hawaiian roll. Yummy...

Before we get to the Thanksgiving meal, here is a go at home made pea puree. Unfortunately, I did things backwards and started with Gerber and then decided to steam and puree foods at home. It's taking her some time to adjust but is making progress.
"WHAT? You expect me to eat more?"

Wow! Madison is 8 months and 2 weeks old AND Chris' and my 3 year wedding anniversary is 8 months and 2 weeks away. Random, huh? I can't believe our little baby is almost 9 months old. She's crawling all over the place and enjoying the exploration of places in the house she never knew existed. She's also pulling herself up (with every bit of strength she has) and really enjoys climbing the stairs. We definitely have to keep an eye out now and she surely keeps us on our toes...or feet for that matter. We look forward to celebrating her first Thanksgiving!

Although I would like to get pictures of all her adorable outfits (there are just too many), I at least try to capture shots of these unique ones. We have come to really love the quality of Janie & Jack and really thank Aunt Michele.

Here is yet another. These pants are by far my personal fav because they are lined which makes them (as I can imagine) super comfy and much softer on the knees when crawling.
And here's what we do to mix it up with clothes already in the closet and the much appreciated hand-me-downs from Allison. This girl has so many options!

This is a picture of Madison wearing an apron that she's sure to love when she grows into it. We love to bake at our house and I especially love cupcakes which I'm sure will pass on to Madison. She and I were given matching aprons from Gigi & Tigger.

And keeping up with the cupcake theme, this is an adorable outfit given to Madison from Suzy on our shopping day.

The outfit included Mary Jane socks with a cute little pink bow.

This one is not only adorable, but practical. The pants are called "crawlers" because they have built in knee pads. And come on, a built in tutu? Not to mention, the accessorized onesie on top. Does it get any cuter???

I can only imagine that what's going through her mind is, "hahaha...you can't get me!" Madison loves the music table she borrowed from Allison. The problem is she's still not great at standing so she can't do it on her own. That's the reason we "hide" it under the table in the living room and behind the jumperoo. Well, now that she's crawling, she's a determined little monkey and made her way despite our cleverness.

Notice she even left Sophie behind when she couldn't drag her over the bar? Her beloved Sophie...

The question on the table is, "How will he out do this costume next year?" For Halloween, last year, Madison was the theme for our costumes. Chris was the Baker and I was an Oven With a Bun. Well, there was no escaping it this year either. Madison had no choice in being a prop for Chris' costume.

Madison is a very lucky girl with a loving family. When Aunt Nancy heard that Madison didn't have a cute costume of her very own, she graciously selected 2 costumes and shipped them to us for Madison's first Halloween. You will see one of those adorable costumes in the previous post. The other one is one we're saving for Sunday and will post pics then. =) Thank you Aunt Nancy. The Jack-O-Lantern costume was actually quite perfect because at our party, we had a pumpkin carving contest and we, because of lack of time, didn't carve a pumpkin so Madison became our contestant with her costume.

First of all, HAPPY 8th MONTH BIRTHDAY to Madison! She and I went out today and got her a gift that I'm sure to enjoy more than she will. Aunt Michele will be proud too, I'm sure. During the summer, Madison mostly hung out in a diaper alone. That made for easy feedings! I could let her make as big a mess as she wanted and simple take one baby wipe to that mess. Well, now that it's Fall and soon to be Winter, she's hanging out in clothes and usually long sleeves at that. YIKES...as you can imagine, it was time to pull out the bibs. We had our pick out of the couple dozen that had been given to us. We have every color and pattern known to bibs making it easy to accessorize. I quickly discovered that while these bibs were probably perfect for drooling (Madison was never really a drooler hence not really using the bibs), they really weren't practical for containing food messes. As most babies, I'm sure, Madison is curious about the world around her. She looks in every direction even with a great heaping spoonful of food in front of her. This is now the reason for food stains on the sleeves of her shirts. Doh!!! What's a clean freak mother to do? Pack up all those adorable bibs and get 2...yes, only 2, easily wipeable (no more stain remover and washing machine), sleeve covering bibs with a food catcher at the bottom. TaDa!!! Problem solved. Oh, the things we learn as mothers. It's the simple things! And Aunt Michele will just love that they are Tinker Bell!

Full Speed Ahead, Everyone!

Okay...so maybe she doesn't quite have the speed factor on her side, yet, but it is only a matter of time before she's zooming around this house. Check out the video of Madison crawling. Notice how she's more interested in her own shadow than the toy. It's a wonder why we even buy toys to begin with. Oh, and she has also started doing push ups which is enjoyable to watch.

We're getting in the spirit for the Holiday Season! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years...this is our favorite time of year and we are so excited to share it for the first time with Madison!

By the way, look closely and you'll see her two bottom front teeth. We've tried to get better pictures of said teeth, but she'll have none of it. And now, she has the third bottom tooth coming in, too.

New Chair at the Table!

It was finally time! Madison has an activity booster seat that we absolutely love. It can sit on the floor or conveniently on the counter and/or kitchen nook table. It makes it so easy to do things in the kitchen and have Madison be part of it. Because of its accessibility, thus far, we've used this seat as a booster for feeding Madison. Well, she is now distracted by the toys and starting to wiggle her way out of it during feeding. So, we agreed it was time for her own seat at the table. We struggled with what type of high chair to get and being the practical people that we are, decided on a 4 in 1 chair. We have 3 different tables we use at various times for eating and we're often at others' houses as well. We needed something diverse. Especially because our kitchen nook table and the dining room table are complete opposites of eachother. We absolutely love this chair and are thrilled it's the one we brought home. It's on wheels and transforms to 4 different kinds of chairs. A rolling high chair (so handy when chairs are limited), a booster with a high back (easy to transport), a booster with a low back (also easy to transport), and a youth chair. We love that 2 of the options can be used at once so when we have another baby in this chair, Madison can still use the booster as a toddler. This is also great for when we have friends over with little ones. And of course as you'll see, it helps that this chair matches our kitchen. I just can't say enough good things about this chair. And lastly, Madison seems to really enjoy it!

Emma, Seth, & Madison?...OH MY!

Some of you already know that we've had very busy days here at the Curry house...hence the reason for not having posted sooner. For the last month, Madison and I have had the pleasure of spending time everyday with Seth and Emma. And for the next couple weeks, we have them full time (yes, that means days and nights). Life with a 2 year old and a five year old kindergartner is much different than life with just Madison. It's hectic and crazy but we're doing the best we can at amusing each child. We've spent a lot of time at the library and park and look forward to crafts, a Fall Festival, and getting to a pumpkin patch this weekend.

Seth and Madison are great playmates!

Seth is also a big helper with taking care of Madison. He loves to push her stroller.

Yes...I do what I can to wear them out so that quiet time and naps are needed! That's my only survival!

There's A New Grump In Town!

Madison has a new facial expression she likes to make when she's frustrated. She also adds a pretty funny "huffing" sound and we have no idea where she got either of them. She's really trying to crawl and gets the most frustrated with not being able to get where she wants when she wants. She scoots pretty good but is still working on crawling forward. It's so exciting to watch her get a little bit closer each day.

Watch out world...she's on a mission and won't be stopped!

Actually, now after posting this and looking at it over again, the face really reminds me of John and Brandie's daughter, Allison. Anyone else who knows Allison notice the similarity???
